Adventures in hand spinning my first yarn

This year my newest rabbit-hole to get lost in is... hand spinning!

This is my Very First Ball of Yarn, made from sheep wool sourced from the dusty ground in the cattle pen at my dad's place.

It's dorper x something... we're not really sure, but I saw a bunch of fleece sitting on the ground after my dad did some shearing, and I got inspired to do something with it.

I used a plastic hair comb to clean and process the wool, and I hand made my own drop spindle out of a stick and a round of wood cut from a tree branch.
